Arsenal midfielder Jeff Reine-Adelaide is on the brink of completing a permanent move to Ligue 1 side Angers SCO as they close in on a reunion between player and club, according to RMC Sport.

The French news broadcaster claim on the live transfer blog on their website (25/07, 5:27pm) that the 20-year-old is close to sealing a move over the English Channel and to the side who finished 14th in France’s top flight last season, having spent time on loan there during the latter half of last season.

Reine-Adelaide, who can play centrally or down the right wing, is a graduate of the youth system with the Gunners, and has eight senior appearances for the club under his belt, while he made 10 outings for Angers.

Good move for Arsenal?

The Gunners have always seemed to tip the young talent for great things but it seems as though they feel his development may have stalled.

Left out from the club’s pre-season preparations, it seems Unai Emery does not have the same faith in the midfielder that former boss Arsene Wenger did, and is prepared to see him depart on a permanent basis.

Angers know what they are getting in for and so Arsenal should have no trouble in negotiating a decent price for his sale.

However, it is the end of a Gunners career for another youth prospect, and the supporters at the Emirates Stadium will be hoping to see someone make the grade after a couple of disappointments.

Likely to happen?

If Arsenal are willing to let him go, this one seems in the bag for Angers.

He knows the club, the club know him, and the Gunners get a fee for a player who is deemed surplus to requirements.

A win-win-win situation.
