After capturing Barry Douglas from Wolves on Saturday, Leeds are set to land another major new signing on Monday, according to John Percy from the Telegraph.

He claims that Middlesbrough’s striker Patrick Bamford is set for his medical at Elland Road tomorrow, after a £7million deal was agreed with the Championship club.

He made the claim on his personal Twitter page on Sunday afternoon.

Good move for Leeds?

It’s a great move for Leeds and if Marcelo Bielsa can get the best out of Bamford, the former Chelsea man could be a real bargain. He’s never really delivered to his promise at ‘Boro but he’s also never been utilised in the correct way and there’s a feeling that Bielsa knows exactly what he wants from his new man. Victor Orta is a big fan too, after signing Bamford when he was heading up the recruitment at the Riverside. Leeds fans would still love to get Matej Vydra on top, but this will do for starters.

Likely to happen?

This will be done tomorrow by the sounds of it, barring any complications from the medical. That will make him the second major Leeds signing in just 48 hours as the club really starts to nail down its squad for next season. Just in time as well – the Championship kicks off next weekend, and it looks like Bamford will start the new campaign in a Leeds shirt.
