One of the biggest issues that Leeds United suffered last summer was a lack of Championship experience injected into their squad – and the likes of Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta must have learned from their mistakes.

The pair – newly in charge at Elland Road 12 months ago – chose to pinch pennies where they could and instead of splashing out for proven stars for their second tier push, they took gambles on foreign talent, very few of which lived up to expectation.

That must change this summer as Marcelo Bielsa gets prepared for his first season in England, but with less than a month until the transfer window slams shut, there has been just one new face through the door in the shape of Lewis Baker.

Now, journalist Paul Joyce has revealed that there is a massive Championship hunt to try and prise Liverpool winger Harry Wilson away this summer with a loan exit from Anfield on the cards – which will come after he pens a new deal with the Reds.

Leeds are named among the likes of Aston Villa, Derby County and Middlesbrough as those taking a firm interest in the 21-year-old’s capture, but considering his record in the second tier, it must be the Whites smashing their rivals aside for his capture.

He dazzled while on loan at Hull City during the second half of last season, scoring seven goals and chipping in with four assists in just 13 outings, and his arrival helped rescue the Tigers from what looked to be a relegation battle, having made his debut with the club sitting 22nd.

That sort of attacking threat is exactly what Leeds need heading into the new campaign, and with Bielsa in charge, Jurgen Klopp knows his youngster would be getting an education from one of the most revered coaches in club football.
