If there is one thing that fans of Leeds United might have learned while following their side, it is patience.

The Whites supporters are still waiting to make a meaningful push for a return back to the Premier League after a 14 year absence from the top flight, despite the fervent support offered week in, week out.

With new manager Marcelo Bielsa at the helm, the Elland Road faithful will be hoping their patience has finally paid off – although they will be forced to wait a little longer until the season kicks off and the potential of a top six finish can be realised.

However, they have also been made to wait to see the new signings that the Argentine boss is bringing in to the club, with just Lewis Baker as a new face through the doors – and if the Whites are to push for success next season, then they really must be ramping up their business sooner rather than later.

The Yorkshire Evening Post’s Phil Hay claims that the club are hopeful a move for a senior goalkeeper – with David Stockdale and Jamal Blackman both named as targets – can be completed over the coming days and before the end of the week, but really they need many more bodies in imminently.

Bielsa’s arrival will signal a change of tactics and the squad already there will need time to get comfortable with his plans, let alone new arrivals.

The managerial hunt earlier in the summer has not helped their cause, and they must really push hard to get deals over the line and players into the squad, working with their team mates and the coaching staff to make sure they are raring to go come August.

A slow start could be catastrophic for Leeds’ hopes in the new season, and having everyone prepared is the only way to prevent that – and late arrivals will not help.
