Leeds United are in hot pursuit of Molde striker Erling Braut Haaland, according to ESPN.

The outlet claims that both Leeds and Manchester United have scouted the 17-year-old this season, who scored four goals in 21 minutes against Brann in the Norwegian league on Sunday.

The talented striker is the son of former footballer Alf-Inge Haaland, who played for both the Whites and Manchester City in his playing career.

It is reported that the Molde attacker, who has scored six goals in 13 appearances for his club this season (TransferMarkt), is a fan of the Yorkshire club and was born in the city.

This is Futbol verdict:

This is a tough decision for a 17-year-old to make. Does he join the club where he was born and who he supports? Or does he join their most hated rivals? It could be argued that a move to Leeds would give him more regular game time in order to develop his talent. Also, Marcelo Bielsa would be a great manager to get coached by and learn from, especially at such a young age. If he made the move to Manchester United, you feel that he would be stuck in youth teams and play in games where there is little at stake, but he would almost certainly be on a bigger contract and would be financially secure. He may even make the grade at Old Trafford but there is a bigger chance of playing first-team football at Elland Road as it stands. He needs his dad to help him out and advise him, to make sure it’s the right decision for his career.
