Many Leeds United fans on Twitter have been left demanding that the club sign Matej Vydra from Derby County after a done deal for young defender Leif Davis was confirmed.
The Whites announced via Twitter, as well as their official website, that they had snapped up the 18-year-old full back on a three year deal from Morecombe and that he will be heading into the under-23 side, in what is the club’s second signing of the summer window after Lewis Baker arrived on a season-long loan.

However, with much talk over a deal for Vydra being close, including from the Daily Record, a selection of the supporters at Elland Road were all left saying the same thing on social media and questioning where the Czech international’s announcement was.
This is Futbol has rounded up some of the fans’ reactions to the news:

Praying for Vydra. Might have to just lose my hopes of signing him

Opinion
Not that Leeds fans ever hide their true feelings, they have taken no time at all in demanding that Vydra is signed sooner rather than later. Admittedly, Davis might not be the most exciting capture but at least the club are thinking about the future as well as the present. There have been a lot of rumours suggesting a Vydra deal is close and as such fans should not have long to wait until they see the Czech hitman swapping the White shirt of Derby for the one at Leeds. It still will not be enough though, and Marcelo Bielsa should be looking for a couple more arrivals before the summer window shuts.
