Everton are plotting to approach Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri about taking either Michy Batshuayi or Ruben Loftus-Cheek on a season-long loan deal, according to the Mirror.

The newspaper claims that Premier League clubs can only loan one player from another club at any one time, and Everton manager Marco Silva wants to know if either of the Chelsea players are in Sarri’s plans at Stamford Bridge.

Batshuayi spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund after failing to earn much football under Antonio Conte, but Sarri may have different plans for the £70,000-a-week (Spotrac) forward, who went viral at the World Cup when he celebrated Belgium’s winner against England by kicking the ball off the post and into his face.

Good move for Everton?

Batshuayi would be an extremely good signing for Everton and Silva should definitely look to sign up the Belgium international on a permanent deal if he can.

The former Marseille forward was in stunning form at Dortmund in the second half of last season, scoring nine goals in 14 appearances across all competitions in Germany.

He has not been given a fair shot at Stamford Bridge due to him playing behind the likes of Diego Costa and Alvaro Morata, so could be available for a decent deal if the Toffees wanted to buy him outright, rather than on loan.

Everton need a new number nine, and Batshuayi can be that player.

Likely to happen?

Everton can only sign one player on loan from Chelsea, so they can only have either Loftus-Cheek or Batshuayi.

Neither of them are expected to get much football under Sarri and surely the best option for the Toffees would be to buy one and loan the other, if they can afford it.

There is a good chance that one of them will head to Goodison Park though, it’s just a shame that it will probably not be both of them.
