Everton must move quick to try and sign Real Sociedad forward Willian Jose this summer after it was reported that Fulham have tabled a bid for the Brazilian goal machine.

The Daily Mail has reported that the Cottagers have bid £26million for Jose, 26, as Slavisa Jokanovic eyes up a new spearhead to his attack for the upcoming Premier League season.

However Everton are still in need of finding a new No 9 of their own, and Marco Silva should look to hijack the London club’s advances for the La Liga forward, after a stunning 2017/18 season saw him score 20 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions.

The Toffees were linked with signing Jose last summer when the Daily Mail claimed that he was admired by the transfer chiefs at Goodison Park, but considered too expensive.

To think that the Brazilian would cost too much is absolutely ridiculous by Everton’s standards, with them overspending on pretty much all of their transfer over the last 12 months without really making any kind of improvement to the squad and their results.

Jose would have been miles better up front than Sandro Ramirez, Oumar Niasse or Cenk Tosun, and would continue to do so if Silva and director of football Marcel Brands were able to blow Fulham out of the water to sign him this summer instead.

It’s not too late for the Evertonians to pull off a transfer masterstroke to sign Jose, who can become a real goal machine at Goodison if he is signed up for the upcoming campaign.
