Chelsea have confirmed that they have agreed a deal to sell attacking midfielder Jeremie Boga to Serie A club Sassuolo.

The Blues announced via their official Twitter account and official website that the 21-year-old attacker has moved to Italy on a permanent basis after multiple loan spells away from Stamford Bridge in recent years.

Boga made just one senior appearance for Chelsea and spent last season on loan at Birmingham, where he made 34 appearances across all competitions and scored two goals.

OPINION

Boga is one of them Chelsea players that everyone knew they were never going to see much of because of how often he was being sent out on loan, but for the good of his career, he has finally left Stamford Bridge for good. Boga was a promising young player when he first starting breaking through the youth teams in Chelsea’s academy set-up. He won two FA Youth Cups, the UEFA Youth League and the Under-21 Premier League in his time with the Blues, but has never been given a real shot at the senior squad. Hopefully he is able to continue his development at Sassuolo and make the London club regret not putting more faith in him, but given the fact he struggled to make much of an impact in the Championship with Birmingham last season, that seems unlikely. Chelsea have plenty of other players like Boga who could do with being shifted on this summer.
