West Bromwich Albion defender Allan Nyom has revealed that he doesn’t know if he’ll stay at the club.

The Cameroonian defender posted a reply to a fan on his Instagram story, which casts doubt on his future at The Hawthorns.

Nyom was asked whether he is “staying with Albion”, however the right-back responded with an emoji or a person shrugging.

The 30-year-old joined Albion from Watford in August 2016 for a fee of £4.2million and has made 65 appearances for the Midlands club.

However, the right-back was a first team regular last season as yhe Baggies were relegated from the Premier League and judging by his Instagram story, his future is up in the air.

OPINION

First of all, this is extremely unprofessional. For a player to discuss his future on social media will have enraged club officials and may well, ironically, seal his exit from the club when they learn of this social media blunder. West Brom fans wouldn’t be that too disappointed to see him go, considering that his recent performances have left a lot to be desired.  The 30-year-old is athletic, is very quick and gets up and down the pitch very well, but he is prone to severe lapses of concentration and struggled defensively last season under Tony Pulis, Alan Pardew and now manager Darren Moore. The Baggies fans would probably want to see the club get a decent fee and give one of the young players a go, with the talented right-back Kane Wilson waiting in the wings to replace him. It wouldn’t be a major loss for him to leave Albion.
