A section of West Brom fans have been reacting with delight after reports emerged that the club will sign Harvey Barnes within the next 24 hours.
As reported by the Birmingham Mail, the Leicester City winger is set to join the Midlands side on a season-long loan deal tomorrow.
It is said that that 20-year-old will sign in time to feature for Darren Moore’s side in their pre-season friendly against Barnsley tomorrow night.
The winger, who ironically spent last season on loan at the Tykes in the Championship last season, also made three Premier League appearances for The Foxes last season.
One fan said that he believes the Foxes man will be a massive upgrade on James McClean.

Don’t know a great deal about Harvey Barnes..
Sounds to be quite highly rated tho. Is 5 goals and 4 assists in 18 games true? Improvement on our previous winger for sure. #wba

So, Harvey Barnes then. Any good? It’s good to see youth being added, I suppose. I’d like to think we’ll give Burke a good run this season, and accept that he’ll make the odd mistake. We all wanted an overhaul from that ageing squad of last season… #wba

OPINION
These Baggies fans are spot on, anyone would have been better than James McClean, but Barnes is a really exciting talent who should fit in well at The Hawthorns. He was impressive in his loan spell at Barnsley last year and showed enough to feature in the Premier League for his parent club last season, so big things are expected. There’s no word yet on if there will be an option for Albion to have the option of signing the winger permanently after the loan spell, as if he does well, Leicester City may want him back in their squad. Darren Moore should be able to coach and guide him so that he improves over the season, Barnes could be a great player for Albion next season.
