A section of Leeds United fans have been reacting on Twitter after it was reported that January flop Laurens De Bock could head to Fleetwood Town on loan this summer.
The Sun has reported via their print edition [Sunday 29 July, page 63] that the Whites are open to letting De Bock, 25, leave on a temporary basis after they confirmed the signing of left-back Barry Douglas from Wolves on Saturday.
It is understood that Joey Barton’s Fleetwood are in the hunt to sign the former Club Brugge flyer, who according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, joined the Whites for £1.5million in January.
De Bock has since made just seven appearances for United, meaning he has cost the Yorkshire giants £210,000-a-game.
Some Leeds fans appear happy about the thought of De Bock leaving Elland Road, albeit temporary, with one fan claiming that he will “drive him there”.

DeBock to go on loan to Fleetwood? Bit of a sickener for him but I think Fleetwood are getting 2 good full backs from us #lufc

De Bock off to Fleetwood? What a bizarre spell at Leeds he has had. #LUFC

imagine if we hadn’t signed Douglas we’d have probably started the season with De Bock as first choice LB ? #lufc

A loan move will probably be best for Leeds left-back Laurens De Bock, certainly 3rd choice this season with Barry Douglas & Tom Pearce #lufc #mot

I’ll drive him there

Maybe our right can show him how it’s done. 6 month Loan must be in case the first team are knackered and we need reinforcements.

OPINION
De Bock obviously did little to impress these Leeds fans last season and it is completely understandable that they would want to see him leave. The Belgian’s performances were borderline reckless at time. He constantly put his team-mates in trouble and his disasterclass against Derby in February will be remembered for the wrong reasons. It is odd that he’d move to Fleetwood, with one fan describing it at “bizarre”. The former Club Brugge lef-tback cost Leeds £1.5million just six months ago and should not be so bad that he’s playing in League One. Unfortunately, he really was that bad.
