Tottenham have reportedly entered the race to sign Liverpool forward Rhian Brewster this summer as the teenager continues to hold talks about signing a new contract at Anfield.

The Sun has reported that Arsenal are also in the hunt to sign Brewster, who is yet to put pen to paper on his first professional deal at Liverpool over worries about whether he will be able to break into Jurgen Klopp’s first team next season.

The 18-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best young English forwards, and would be a stunning addition for Spurs if the North London club are able to offer him increased chances of senior football next season.

Spurs do not have anywhere near as many options in attack as Liverpool do, and manager Mauricio Pochettino should be able to tell him that he is going to be his third choice striker for the 2018/19 campaign in order to lure him to the capital.

Harry Kane will obviously be the main man up front, but with Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen both being poor back-up options, Brewster could easily be in the reckoning to play in the first team if Kane was to get an injury or Pochettino wants to rest the England captain.

Pochettino is also the best manager in the Premier League to turn Brewster into a household name, as he has done with many other younger players.

Brewster is already well known to Liverpool fans as being one of their most exciting young prospects, but Pochettino will be able to turn him into someone of the level of Marcus Rashford if he snaps him up for Tottenham this summer.

It will not be easy to sign the contract rebel from Liverpool as there may well be a lot of offers on the table for him if his situation is not resolved soon, so Spurs will have to move quick on this one to get a deal done.
