English Championship outfit Norwich City have approached Chelsea to try take playmaker Kasey Palmer on loan, according to Sky Sports.

The reliable news site claimed on its live transfer blog (7:35pm, 30 June) that Norwich have made a loan offer for the 21-year-old.

It is understood French outfit Nice have also contacted the Blues about taking the English creator on loan and the player wants his future resolved ASAP.

The report details that Palmer is one of several waiting to find out their future, as the club look to resolve their uncertain managerial position first.

Good move for Chelsea?

Chelsea infamously have a wealth of talented youngster on the books, but Palmer doesn’t look like somebody that can one day break into the first team at Stamford Bridge.

The attacking midfielder usually plays in the number 10 role and has had loan spells at the likes of Derby County and Huddersfield Town in the past.

It makes sense to ship him out again this summer, but ultimately selling him on a permanent basis may be the best decision for both the club and player.

Palmer has not made a senior appearance for Chelsea and at the age of 21 that says a lot.

Likely to happen?

Norwich could well be the latest destination next season for Palmer in his hunt for first-team football and to his credit was crucial in Huddersfield’s Championship promotion in the 2016/17 campaign.
