Italian giants Inter Milan are set to step up their pursuit of Tottenham enforcer Mousa Dembele, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper claims that Inter have held talks with the midfielder’s agents and are planning for further discussions next week.
It is understood that Spurs are keen to recoup £20million for the Belgium international and that the player is aiming to be looking elsewhere due to the high demands of Premier League football.
The report details the 30-year-old could also consider an offer from Chinese club Jiangsu Suning.
Good move for Spurs?
Dembele may not be able to put his body through a long gruelling season anymore due to the risk of injuries, but even if he can take part in 75 per cent of the games it is worth keeping him around.
The combative Belgian can be a Rolls-Royce in the centre of the park on his day and offers the perfect balance of attack and defence to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
The central midfielder is technically gifted on his left foot and those that have played against him know how strong he is too.
