Fulham are set to make a new bid in their attempt to sign Wolves attacker Ivan Cavaleiro, according to the Daily Mirror.

The newspaper claims in its live transfer blog (8:28pm, 30 June) that the Londoners will lodge a £14million offer to try secure the speed machine.

Sky Sports previously reported that Wolves had rejected a £12million bid from Fulham for the 24-year-old, but it seems they have now returned with an improved offer.

Wolves and Fulham are both gearing up for life in the Premier League next season after their promotion from the Championship, with both hoping to make an impact back in the top flight.

Good move for Wolves?

Caveleiro was an important player for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side last season and moving him on would make very little sense this summer.

The electric wide man was pivotal in promotion with nine goals and 12 assists in the league, despite the fact it was his first taste in England.

The Portuguese flyer has experience in the Champions League before and is one of the high-profile players that should be able to cope with step up in class at Molineux next year.

Likely to happen?

Wolves stood form over the attacker by rejecting an opening £12million bid and you would suspect Fulham will receive a similar response.

However, at some point Nuno’s side will have a serious dilemma if Fulham persist with their chase.
