Exit-bound Newcastle United attacker Yasin Ben El-Mhanni has eight clubs chasing his signature, according to Goal.

The news outlet claims that the 22-year-old will depart St James’ Park this summer when his contract expires and a host of sides may move for him.

It is understood that Leicester City, Wolves, Leeds United, Swansea City, Besiktas, Sporting CP, Bordeaux and Feyenoord could all be interested n landing him on a free transfer.

OPINION

El-Mhanni will leave Newcastle tomorrow (Sunday) officially when his contract expires and a fresh move now in his career is exactly what he needs. The right-winger is known to have blistering pace and tons of trickery to his game, but has seen his path to the first team blocked during his two years at St James’ Park. The Englishman joined the Magpies in 2016 from non-league club Lewes and his only two first-team appearances have been in the FA Cup. El-Mhanni has instead been a regular feature in the Under-23s side and clearly not done enough to warrant a promotion to Rafael Benitez’s side. However, there is certainly encouragement for him that several teams could move for him and at this stage in his career he needs to be playing regular football. A loan spell in the lower leagues may have been the best strategy for Newcastle to help El-Mhanni develop, but that will now have to happen elsewhere and that could be with an English rival.
