Wolves are in hot pursuit of Leicester City forward Ahmed Musa, who spent the second half of last season on loan at CSKA Moscow, according to Takvim.

The Turkish news outlet claims that Galatasaray are also interested in signing Musa, 25, and have tabled an increased bid for his services after seeing him score twice for Nigeria in their World Cup win against Iceland last week.

It is understood that the jet-heeled forward is expected to announce a decision on his future by July 5 as he is well down the pecking order at Leicester, where according to statistics website Spotrac, he earns £65,000-a-week.

Good move for Wolves?

Musa is a very good striker who has not had much of a chance at Leicester due to the major competition there is for a place in the first team.

Since joining the Foxes in 2016 for over £16million, he has scored just five goals in 33 appearances across all competitions.

The Nigerian proved that he is still a good goalscorer in his loan spell back at CSKA, netting seven times in 16 appearances for the Russian giants.

His form at the World Cup is bound to see Leicester increase their asking price, but it will definitely be a good move by Wolves if they are willing to splash the cash.

Likely to happen?

Wolves do not appear to be as interested as Galatasaray are so there’s a chance that they will miss the chance to sign Musa this summer.

Nuno Espirito Santo may have plans to bolster his strike force with other players too given the link that he and the West Midlands club have to super-agent Jorge Mendes.

If Musa’s price continues to soar due to his form in Russia, then it’s not likely Wolves will make this move happen.
