Liverpool midfielder Emre Can is expected to undergo his scheduled medicals at Juventus within a matter of days, according to Sky Sports Italy reporter Gianluca di Marzio.

The ever-reliable journalist claimed on his personal website that Can, 24, is now on the verge of completing his free transfer exit from Anfield and will jet out to Italy on either Thursday of Friday.

Can’s contract at Liverpool expires at the end of the month after failing to agree a new deal on Merseyside.

The Germany international was a regular in Jurgen Klopp’s first team last season, appearing 38 times across all competitions and scoring six goals.

Good move for Liverpool?

It’s an absolute disaster that Can is leaving Liverpool for free.

He is the sort of player that Klopp should be doing his best to keep around but it just seems as though the German either wanted a new challenge or his wage demands were too high for the Reds.

Juventus will be loving the fact that they are getting such a quality player for free, but Liverpool already seem to have replacements lined up to bolster their midfield with Naby Keita and Fabinho arriving this summer.

Liverpool fans will be hoping that the pair of new midfielders will shove thoughts of Can to the back of their minds, but in an ideal world, it would have been best to keep hold of him.

Likely to happen?

Can has been linked with moving to Juventus for a long time now and it does seem as though this deal will go through.

Di Marzio gets little wrong and given the fact that Can is out of contract at the end of the month, it would be more of a shock for this deal to not happen.
