Wolves must make a massive transfer u-turn by signing Bakary Sako from Crystal Palace with the left-winger available on a free transfer this summer.

The 30-year-old is in the twilight of his career and this will likely be his final swansong as well as an opportunity to return to a club where he became the talent he is today.

Sako made 124 appearances for Wolves, scoring 38 goals and totalling 36 assists in that time, prior to his move to the Premier League.

Now, with Palace reportedly having offered the midfielder a contract, which remains unsigned, there is a chance, no matter how small, that Wolves could pull off a massive swoop by re-signing him.

Of course, as it stands, Diogo Jota currently holds that position at Molineux and puts in performances of the highest quality.

However, while the Portuguese starlet would undoubtedly be Nuno Espirito Santo’s number one choice, Sako would provide a smart replacement for the position and a valuable alternative.

Wolves are going to need quality backup reinforcements for their starting XI, and Sako’s capture would certainly spell a resolution for the left of midfield – that only leaves another ten positions for him to attend to.

It would be a huge transfer turnaround if they can convince the Malian to join rejoin the club after letting him leave years ago, but a fully fit Sako is worth it.
