If Tottenham fans had to pick a favourite player from each position across the pitch there may well be some arguments, but a consensus would likely emerge.

In goal it has to be Hugo Lloris, the French star the club captain and leading the team from the back.

For defence, it would likely be a toss up between senior stalwart Jan Vertonghen, another who is an important voice both on the pitch or in the dressing room, or Davinson Sanchez, the young Colombian going from strength to strength after dazzling in his first season.

Christian Eriksen would likely edge out Mousa Dembele for the midfield role, while Spurs fans also love Dele Alli for the fact much of the rest of the Premier League have some disdain towards the youngster.

Up front there is no argument, for as the Tottenham faithful sing: ‘Harry Kane, he’s one of our own’.

Aside from being firm fan favourites in the Lilywhite half of north London, and stars in the first team, these lot all have one thing in common – they have committed, or are said to be planning on committing, their long term futures to the club.

The Telegraph report that after a contract deal was done for Kane to commit to a £200,000-a-week, six-year offer, which smashed the wage limit at Spurs, there are four more to follow in what will be the perfect start to summer.

Eriksen, Vertonghen, Lloris and Alli are all said to be plotting to put pen to paper on new deals and follow in the footsteps of Kane, Sanchez and manager Mauricio Pochettino.

They are the core of the team and Tottenham are giving supporters a reason to bounce around in the off-season with all these new contracts.

After years of growth and mixing it with the big boys, Spurs are taking their business to the next level.
