Wolves have reportedly signed of Benik Afobe from Bournemouth according to Sky Sports for a £12.5million fee but Cherries fans have been ripping into the newly promoted side for the purchase.

The broadcaster state on their official Twitter account that the two clubs have agreed a deal for the 25-year-old to return to Molineux, although there is still no official confirmation.

Bournemouth supporters were gleeful to hear the report and believe that the transfer spells excellent business for the south coast club as they do not believe the 25-year-old is worthy of the £12.5m cost.

The forward never managed to hold down a regular first-team place at the club following his move from Wolves back in January 2016.

One fan went as far to say that he was in “dreamland” after hearing the news, while there was all out celebration from supporters of the Cherries, who were elated to hear news of the exit which is yet to be confirmed by Wolves.

However, despite failing to register for Eddie Howe’s side prior to his January loan move to Molineux, the forward has been unstoppable during his temporary spell in the West Midland’s, scoring six goals in 16 games.

Nuno Espirito Santo clearly has faith in the former Arsenal youngster though, even if the Cherries fans do not rate him, and the supporters will have to wait until the new campaign to find out whether Afobe is a hit or miss signing.

Here is a selection of reactions on Twitter from the Bournemouth faithful reacting to the transfer:
