West Ham must not sign Jack Wilshere this summer as there are way better midfielders for Manuel Pellegrini to welcome to the club this summer.

Sky Sports reported that the Hammers were interested in the 26-year-old central midfielder and that the London side were one of many clubs keen on signing him.

While Wilshere will be available for a free transfer once his Gunners contracts ends later this month, a fact he confirmed via his Instagram on Wednesday, he will simply be a costly blunder if recruited.

The Premier League midfielder might be available for free but his wages demands are surely going to see him still be a costly pursuit.

Wilshere is believed to earn £110,000-a-week, as revealed by the Telegraph, on his current deal and while he may be willing to take a pay cut, he still is going to want a significantly high pay packet.

The 26-year-old will also no doubt want a contract that is at least two-years long as he won’t want to have his future up in the air come next summer once again.

Given these likely demands he will prove to be a pricey mistake as while he stayed fit for the majority of his 2017/18 campaign, his injury record speaks for itself.

Transfermarkt lists all the player’s known injuries and aside from there being a lot of different ones, Wilshere has consistently suffered problems that have kept him rooted on the sideline for huge periods of time.

Pellegrini likes to push his sides and have them play at a fast tempo therefore the midfielder is more likely to get injured working under the manager as his legs will feel the added strain from his new boss’ demands.

Therefore the Hammers boss is the verge of making a costly blunder for the club by reportedly being interested in Wilshere as given the likely contract needed to be tabled for him, he’s too much of a risk.
