West Ham have formally announced the signing of Swansea City goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee and will join up with the club following the Polish international’s participation in the World Cup.

The Hammers confirmed the news on their official Twitter feed and website which comes just a day after the arrival of centre-back Issa Diop was also announced.

The 33-year-old will now compete with Adrian in between the sticks for the number one jersey and Sky Sports have reported that the fee is £7million.

It has been a busy summer so far for West Ham supporters, as was previously promised by club owner David Gold, who informed supporters on talkSPORT radio that they will be spending more money in this window than any gone before – and so it is proving to be the case.

Diop and Fabianski join Ryan Fredericks at the London Stadium as the club look to build and strengthen their squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign under new manager Manuel Pellegrini.

The Hammers had the joint-worst defensive record in all of the English top-flight last term after they conceded a shocking 68 goals but they will hope that in bringing in Fredericks, Diop and Fabianski, it will go some of the way to tightening up their issues at the back.

Here are some reactions on Twitter from West Ham following Fabianski’s arrival at the London Stadium:
