Tottenham are in hot pursuit of PSV Einhoven winger Steven Bergwijn as a massive transfer hunt for his capture heats up, according to De Telegraaf.
The Dutch publication claim on their website that Spurs are one of a number of clubs from across Europe who are chasing the 20-year-old speed machine’s signing this summer, with Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool also named as potential suitors.
The report claims that the Eredivisie side, who were crowned champions of the Netherlands this year, would be looking for a fee up to the region of £17.4million (€20million) for the youngster’s capture after his eight goals and 11 assists on the way to the league title.
Good move for Tottenham?
Bergwijn would not be being chased by some of the biggest clubs across England and Europe if he did not have the ability to shine and considering Tottenham’s lack of quality wingers, he would be a brilliant bit of business.
His pace down the flanks would strike fear into the hearts of the opposition and at 20 he has so much developing to do that he could become a top class talent under Mauricio Pochettino.
The £17.4million price tag is not too bad either and is certainly well within the region of what Spurs would hope to be paying this summer as they look to bolster their side with some quality additions.

It is difficult to say, for it would mean leaving the side who took a gamble on him from Ajax and turned him into a title winner.
With so many big name clubs sniffing around he could have the pick of the lot and if that is the case, how high are Spurs really going to rank?
Yes, they are now established as a top four side but they still lack that prodigious name that the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal do thanks to their history.
If Tottenham can convince him to be a history maker in north London, then maybe a move will be on, but it will be a tough fight.
