Fans at Tottenham have been left raving on social media after it was confirmed the club have activated a clause in Michel Vorm’s contract to see him stay with the Lilywhites until 2019.
Spurs revealed their decision to activate the one-year extension via their official Twitter account as well as their website, the 34-year-old having arrived in north London from Swansea City back in 2014.

The Dutch shot stopper was set to be out of contract this summer, leaving him as a free agent and Hugo Lloris and Paulo Gazzaniga as the senior options between the sticks next season, but it looks as though the man with 15 caps under his belt for the Netherlands will continue to act as understudy for the French international.
In his four years at the club, Vorm has managed to appear 43 times across all competitions, with 11 of those outings coming last season, and has conceded a total of 40 goals during his time on the pitch.
Despite not being a first team mainstay, the Spurs faithful were delighted on Twitter to see the club choose to activate the key clause in his contract and extend his stay as they head into their new stadium, with many dubbing him the best backup goalkeeper in the Premier League.
