Tottenham striker Harry Kane has put pen to paper on a stunning new contract worth £200,000-a-week as the club kick off major business this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claim on their website that the 24-year-old forward has been rewarded for his sensational form with a six-year deal which smashes the wage structure at Spurs and sets the way for other senior stars to follow in his footsteps.

Tottenham confirmed that the England hitman had agreed terms with the Lilywhites via their official Twitter page.

With manager Mauricio Pochettino, defender Davinson Sanchez and now Kane all committing their long term futures in north London, it is stated that this latest deal has got the ball rolling for yet more exciting deals which are in the pipeline, with Dele Alli reportedly in talks over extending his current deal.

OPINION

Anyone who said that Tottenham were not willing to splash the cash on securing their top stars has been well and truly shut up by Daniel Levy, for this is one of the most stunning deals in their history. Kane has been in red hot form ever since breaking into the first team and there would be very few that would argue he is not worthy of being among the top paid stars in all of England. The fact there are more deals in the pipeline should be equally exciting for the Spurs faithful for there are many who they would love to see commit their long-term futures to the club, such as Christian Eriksen. Whether Toby Alderweireld is among that list remains to be seen but this new deal for Kane should keep them happy for the coming weeks. Of course, there will also be the desire to see some new faces through the door, so Pochettino and Levy could have their work cut out.
