Leeds United are in the hunt to sign £4.5million-rated attacker Jarrod Bowen from Yorkshire rivals Hull City, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The newspaper reports on their website that Leeds are eyeing up a move for the young attacker, who has impressed at Hull during the 2017/2018 campaign, netting 14 goals for his club. The 21-year-old joined the Tigers in 2014 from Hereford after turning down a move to Wolves.

The Leominster-born attacker has also caught the interest of Premier League outfit Everton according to the Sun, with new boss Marco Silva having spent six months with Bowen at Hull City – but it now appears that Leeds are vying for his signature too.

Good move for Leeds?

Having netted 14 goals this season, Bowen would be the perfect signing to help new boss Bielsa make his mark on his reign at Elland Road.

The 21-year-old is an exciting young prospect, and was undoubtedly one of the breakthrough stars of the Championship last season.

This would be a good move for Leeds, giving them the firepower they need to push for promotion to the Premier League – and at such a young age, he is only going to get better and better.

Likely to happen?

At the moment, the possibility of a transfer is not likely to happen. Leeds have only registered their interest in signing Bowen, and have not made any formal requests to Hull in regards to his availability.

It can be argued that Bowen may favour a move to a Premier League club over a move to a side in the second tier, but that is something he needs to consider – whether he wants to play regularly for an up and coming club, or possibly only make the bench for a top division club.
