Everton manager Marco Silva is looking to sell at least four more of his first-team players this summer, according to the Daily Star.

The English newspaper report that in addition to the recent departure of defender Ramiro Funes Mori, Silva hopes to offload a further four first-team players this summer as he looks to rebuild his squad.

The outlet claim that the senior quartet in danger of the axe are Morgan Schneiderlin, Yannick Bolasie, Ashley Williams and Wayne Rooney.

The report also reveals that Schneiderlin could be heading to Ligue 1 side Marseille, with Rooney set to join MLS side DC United.

Statistics website Spotrac claims that both Schneiderlin and Rooney earn over £100,000-a-week at Goodison Park, with the France international on £120,000-a-week and Rooney on £160,000-a-week.

OPINION

New Everton boss Marco Silva needs to put his stamp on this squad and if a summer of sales is needed, then he shouldn’t hesitate. The players mentioned, possibly Yannick Bolasie apart, have simply not performed at anywhere near the level that Everton expected. Morgan Schneiderlin joined in a big-money move from Manchester United in January 2017 but has struggled to produce performances that are required at this level. Welshman Ashley Williams has been at the club for a few years now, but his level of performance dropped to an appalling level last season and he should be the first out of the door. Ex-Crystal Palace winger Bolasie endured a horrible knee injury and has done well to come back, he’s shown enough in his displays that he should be kept around at Goodison Park. Rooney’s move to MLS looks to be getting closer by the day and Toffees fans don’t need to worry, they will be a better team without him.
