Everton attacking midfielder Davy Klaassen could potentially leave Goodison Park this summer after Besiktas expressed an interest in a loan deal for the 25 year old, according to Sky Sports.

It is reported on the broadcaster’s website that the Turkish club are keen for an initial loan deal for the Dutch 5″8′ (source: Transfermarkt) playmaker, who has struggled to get regular games for the Merseyside club since being signed for £23.6 million last June by Ronald Koeman.

Klaassen has made only seven appearances all season for the Toffees, but reportedly turned down a January loan move to Serie A outfit Napoli.

Good move for Everton?

After a lack of game time this season, Dutch midfielder Klaassen should be looking to seek game time elsewhere.

This season has clearly not worked out for him in the way he would have wanted, so Marco Silva will be wanting to get him off the books as soon as possible.

Klaassen is not likely to get a look in with the first team with players like Gylfi Sigurdsson playing regularly, so it would be in his best interests to be loaned out to gain some game time and potentially push for a place in the midfield if he returns.

There is no point in keeping a player on the pay roll if they are not performing consistently, and Klaassen needs to make an important decision on his future.

Likely to happen?

As the former Ajax captain has been out of favour this season under former manager Sam Allardyce, a loan move to Besiktas could be likely.

However, Everton may want to cash in on a player of whom they paid £23.6 million for last summer, so they may decide to wait until an offer of a permanent move for the Dutchman comes in.
