Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has been given another lifeline by new manager Marco Silva, after informing the German that he wants to keep hold of him according to a report in The Telegraph – but the fans are fuming.
Supporters have turned to social media to reveal their displeasure with the Portuguese manager’s latest decision and would like to see the 29-year-old shown the exit door.
It comes as Silva has informed a number of players they are free to leave the club, including Kevin Mirallas, Davy Klaassen and Ashley Williams.
Fans, by and large, agreed with the boss’ decision to axe the aforementioned trio, just not that of Schneiderlin.
The defensive midfielder still has three years left on his current contract at Goodison Park following his move to Merseyside from Manchester United last summer.
A string of mediocre displays last term left supporters questioning why the then manager Ronald Koeman signed a player who was at the time, out of favour at Old Trafford.
However, an upturn in form from the German in the final quarter of the season is what the new manager is likely to be hopeful of replicating going into the new campaign.
Here is a selection of Twitter reactions on social media from the Blues faithful reacting to Silva’s latest decision:
Big mistake keeping Morgan
