Everton have made contact over making a swoop for Trabzonspor midfielder Okay Yokuslu this summer, according to Turkish Football.

The news website reports that Everton are interested in signing the Turkish midfielder after scouts were spotted at the Russia v Turkey friendly, who were thoroughly impressed by the 6″2 (source: Transfermarkt) colossus’ performance.

The Toffees were reportedly so impressed by the 24-year-old, who has 14 caps for his country, that they put in an enquiry to the club who finished fifth in Turkey’s top flight about the player’s availability in this summer’s transfer window.

It is stated that the Turkish international is keen to move away from the Super Lig this summer, and hopes that his club will help him fulfil that wish.

Good move for Everton?

Operating as a defensive midfielder, Yokuslu made 33 appearances in all competitions in the 2017/2018 campaign for the Turkish club.

He is able to provide stability to the midfield, as well as providing cover for the back four should they wish to push forward.

It will give the Trabzonspor man an opportunity to gain experience at a top level, having already earned international recognition with Turkey.

He may be just what the Toffees need, and would be a welcome addition to Goodison Park.

Likely to happen?

With Everton scouts having already put in an enquiry regarding Yokuslu’s availability, then we may see a deal on the cards this summer for the Turkish man.

Everton seem keen, and he has already that he wishes to make a move abroad, so it would be the perfect opportunity for both parties.

All Everton need to do know is sustain their interest in a deal, and await a decision from his club over a transfer.
