Borussia Dortmund are set to test the nerve of Tottenham Hotspur, as they are interested in a move for midfielder Victor Wanyama, reports BILD.

The German news outlet revealed the news by means of their website, indicating that Dortmund regards Wanyama as an option.

The Kenya international is not a regular first-team player in London, and BILD reports that Dortmund could be trying to take advantage of this.

Wanyama, 26, joined Spurs from Southampton in 2016, and has gone on to make 71 appearances over all competitions for Mauricio Pochettino’s team.

Good move for Tottenham?

No.

Wanyama is a dominating presence on the field, and has played well when called upon during his time in London.

Although he is not a regular starter, Pochettino need’s his abilities for squad rotation and crucial cup matches, as Tottenham often play much more games than the regular 38 Premier League matches.

Pochettino must have a replacement lined up if they are willing to shop the Kenya international.

Likely to happen?

Also no.

It is unlikely that Pochettino and Levy will want to lose his intimidating field presence, for lack of a suitable replacement.

Dortmund also has a lot of talent in the midfield area, so regular game-time might be an issue in Germany as well.

Wanyama is accustomed to life in the Premier League, and is set in his ways playing under Pochettino, having previously played for him at Southampton.
