Chelsea to table stunning offer to lure Aston Villa ace Grralish to Stamford Bridge

Chelsea are to torpedo Tottenham’s hopes and launch a stunning £30 million bid for Aston Villa youngster Jack Grealish in an attempt to lure him to Stamford Bridge, according to TEAMtalk.

The football website reports that the West London outfit are ready to offer Aston Villa £30 million for Grealish, with the additional bonus of the 22-year-old heading back to Villa Park on loan next season.

Spurs have been heavily linked with a move for the young maestro, with the Sun claiming that Daniel Levy was ready to table a £15million offer for his capture, while TEAMtalk name the Lilywhites as one of the numerous suitors chasing his capture.

Aston Villa are said to be willing to listen to offers for the midfielder, and are resigned to the fact he will be sold this summer amid the club’s monetary problems – and the Blues are reportedly hoping to beat their London rivals to his signature this summer.

OPINION

Chelsea are always on the lookout for up and coming young talent to join their ranks, so it comes to no surprise that they are joining the race to land the talented Grealish. However, despite his talent, Chelsea already have a host of young talented stars – many in Grealish’s position – so he may struggle to push for a place in the Blues’ first team for long time. However, the offer of a loan spell back to Aston Villa may suit Grealish, who has always expressed his wishes to stay on at Villa Park for another year, despite the club failing to achieve promotion via the play-offs. It seems like a win-win situation for both parties – Villa boss Steve Bruce would be able to hang on to his star player for another season, which will give Grealish the experience he needs at Chelsea when he returns. This may be too good an offer for Aston Villa to turn down – especially if they are being offered double what Tottenham are willing to pay for him, which would be a welcome boost to the club’s finances.
