Leeds United have tabled an offer to coach Marcelo Bielsa which will be decided upon imminently over the next two days with the Whites on the brink of securing his signing, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The newspaper claim on their website that the Elland Road outfit have put forward a proposal to the Argentinian to take the vacant manager’s seat and that the 62-year-old will take the weekend to mull over a decision before providing an answer early next week.

It is stated that the former Lille boss would want transfer business to be conducted immediately, with discussions over targets already having taken place, as well as a complete switch up of the coaching practices in place at the club if he is to commit to replacing Paul Heckingbottom.

Opinion

It looks as though this is the endgame for Leeds and Bielsa’s decision will dictate which direction they head in next. If he signs up, then the next plan of action will be to bring in the new recruits that the Argentine boss wants to strengthen a weak-looking squad at Elland Road. He will be demanding quality and that will no doubt come at a cost, but if Andrea Radrizzani wants to fulfil his ambitions with the Whites, then he needs to give whoever is in charge the backing they want. However, if Bielsa chooses that Leeds is not the right club for him, then a decision must be made over who they target next, having already lost a lot of time negotiating and deliberating when it should have been spent sourcing new talent for the first team. The board will be hoping for a quick resolution so they can put this saga behind them and focus on building a bright future for the club.
