Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack has been out-of-favour with boss Steve Bruce, meaning that his future has been thrown into doubt, according to Birmingham Mail journalist Mat Kendrick – but the Villa faithful have made their opinions clear on social media.
The 31-year-old outcast netted 14 goals whilst in the A-League whilst on loan at Australian outfit Melbourne City last season, but has not been seen for Aston Villa since a 49 minute appearance in the Carabao Cup last September.
The Scot is widely reported to be amongst one of the highest earners at Villa Park, meaning the club has found it near on impossible to attract any suitors that would be willing to pay his wage demands.
What would you do with him? (And please don't be rude!) #AVFC https://t.co/EMA4ncf4jV

However, despite the forward’s ongoing debacle with boss Steve Bruce, McCormack has remained at the club in the hope he may be reinstated into the team again.
Here is a selection of Twitter responses from Aston Villa supporters who want to see the out-of-favour striker get handed a second chance to impress by the club.
If we can’t offload, then get him fit and have him in the squad for match days.

They need to get him match fit and feeling loved asap. We have no money and we could do with him popping up with 20 goals. Disgraceful how year after year we sign players and then single them out after a fallout. Grow up you are adults; Villa need him.

If we are paying him then use him. Pointless to sideline him if he is getting a paycheck

If he and Bruce can bury the hatchet, give him another go.

Unfortunately, looks like he's going nowhere, so play him. Should be able to terminate contract, like any other business, if there's a problem.

Get him fit to start. Then see how it goes

He brings something to the table that none of our otjer attackers does. He is a great goalscorer, unused and on massive wages. Sack Bruce, reintroduce him to the squad and watch him score. We need him now, but Bruce is very selective on who he thinks deserves another chance…

McCormack joined Villa in 2016 from Fulham for £12million.
His form was poor and was eventually frozen out by Bruce when he failed to turn up to training due to a faulty electric gate at his home.
