Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa should target ex-West Bromwich Albion midfielder Claudio Yacob this summer as he seeks to overhaul his playing squad.

The Argentine was announced as the new boss at Elland Road last week and will be searching for reinforcements in his midfield, especially those with technical ability and leadership qualities.

After The Baggies announced on their official site that he’d become a free agent on 1st July, fellow Argentine Yacob would be a perfect addition to the Yorkshire giants. He’s a defensive midfielder who sits in front of the defence and protects the back line, snapping into challenges and intercepting dangerous passes from the opposition.

He also has good technical skills, able to win the ball back and distribute it quickly to the attacking players, allowing the team to break quickly. His desire and determination add so much to the team spirit of a squad, his enthusiasm transmits to his teammates and he will demand players raise their game to match his.

Bielsa likes his players to take risks and that will leave them short at the back, which is why someone like Yacob would be so crucial to his system, he gives players extra protection, making him an ideal signing for this season. He’s rip it up at Leeds.
