West Ham may move to sign Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland in the summer if they avoid relegation from the Premier League, according to the Daily Express.

The newspaper claims that the Hammers could swoop for the 25-year-old if they are remain in the top flight.

It is understood that Championship title winners Wolves are lining up a £35million bid for the shot-stopper, while Premier League giants Liverpool are also mentioned as keen.

The report details that teams could swoop for the England internatonal if Stoke suffer relegation and they are just two points adrift of safety with two games to save themselves.

Stoke know that Butland is likely to want to leave the bet365 Stadium if the club drop down to the Championship.

Good move for West Ham?

Joe Hart has struggled during his loan spell at the London Stadium this season, while Adrian has proven he is not consistent enough to be the number one goalkeeper at West Ham.

Butland is definitely somebody that could make the number one position his own at West Ham and is a great vocal leader from the back.

He can be an excellent shot-stopper on his day and his wealth of Premier League experience makes him an attractive proposition.

Butland will clearly be an in-demand goalkeeper this summer and West Ham must ensure they don’t overpay to get him.

Likely to happen?

Wolves look set to splash out as they prepare for life back in the Premier League and the mere presence of Liverpool means that West Ham are more unlikely suitors to get him

However, they desperately need a new man in-between the sticks going into the next campaign and Butland does fit the bill.
