West Ham are facing a massive summer transfer window with a change of manager imminent and with there also being a massive possibility of an overhaul of the first team squad.

The London Evening Standard has reported that former Manchester City and Real Madrid manager Manuel Pellegrini is close to being appointed as David Moyes’ successor at the London Stadium, and as soon as the Chilean is hired, he should waste no time in offloading the Hammers’ undesirables.

The first player who must face Pellegrini’s axe is Michail Antonio, whose injury problems have become a severe issue in the last 12 months.

In 2016/17, the 28-year-old was in dazzling form as he scored nine goals and supplied five assists in 37 appearances across all competitions, however his campaign was cut short by an injury which he really has not recovered from.

The former Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest star made 22 appearances in total for the club this term and scored just twice, but he spend two long spells on the sidelines with calf and hamstring injuries.

West Ham cannot meet their expectations when they have big-earns like Antonio injured as often as he is.

The Daily Mail has previously reported that Antonio earns a staggering £70,000-a-week on his deal at the London Stadium and the Guardian has recently claimed that Crystal Palace are interested in the versatile winger going into the summer.

With interest in the player, it would be daft for Pellegrini not to cash in on him as soon as he arrives in East London.
