After seeing both Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente fail in their bid to be a worthwhile back up striker to Harry Kane, it should come as no surprise that Mauricio Pochettino is changing his plans up top at Tottenham.

While most clubs have at least two or three proven strikers on their books, the Argentine boss chose to stick with the bare minimum, making use of the likes of Heung-min Son as a centre forward in times of need – often instead of the two powerhouse strikers.

The pair of flops are said by the London Evening Standard to be up for sale this summer, with Pochettino planning to get rid of a back up striker altogether and bring in a forward who can also operate as a winger.

One man who has been heavily linked with a move to north London is Manchester United’s Anthony Martial, the speed machine falling out of favour under Jose Mourinho and seeming set for the exit.

However, the Daily Mail have handed Spurs a bombshell over their hunt for the 22-year-old, claiming United will not be willing to sell up to an English rival, preferring to send the £60,000-a-week star overseas to avoid future embarrassment.

So who could be next for Spurs with Pochettino’s specific demands of an all-in-one package of a striker and winger?

Well Spurs should not be looking too far away, with West Ham’s Marko Arnautovic a man who ticks all the boxes over in east London.

The 6’3″ colossus proved himself as a wide man while at Stoke but was quickly turned into a centre forward with the Hammers, ending the season with 11 goals and eight assists to his name.

His imposing figure gives him a different element to his game than Harry Kane, as well as the other wingers at Tottenham, and a swoop would give Spurs exactly what they want.

Prising him from the Hammers might be a tough task but the Austrian international is among the best in the league for what Pochettino is looking for, and if Martial is off the list, the 29-year-old is a must buy.
