Tottenham have launched talks with the agent of Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic over a potential summer swoop, according to FCInterNews.

The Italian football news website claim that the Lilywhites have got in touch with the 29-year-old’s representatives as a whole host of sides chase his capture this summer after impressing for the Serie A outfit, where he has a contract until 2022.

He scored 11 goals and chipped in with another 11 assists to contribute 22 goals in total for Inter over the last season, but it is said that the Italian giants are not willing to let the 64-cap Croatian international depart without a hefty fee for his capture, as they look to keep a hold of him from the prospective suitors.

Good move for Tottenham?

Spurs might already have a whole host of talent out wide but Perisic would certainly bring something a little different to the current options, which could be why Mauricio Pochettino is chasing him.

His record with Inter is pretty impressive and has proven that he has the ability to both set up goals as well as score them himself from the wings, and the more quality service that Harry Kane gets, the better.

Still, it all comes down to the price tag, and if Inter are demanding an extortionate fee for the 29-year-old then there really is no reason why Spurs should be pursuing it, with the likes of Heung-min Son and Erik Lamela already at the club.

Likely to happen?

Again, this could all come down to price.

Spurs will be looking to splash some cash over the summer to try and improve their squad and push for honours over the next 12 months, but there are areas which clearly need strengthening more than the left wing or attacking midfield roles.

If someone like Lamela leaves, then Perisic could be top of Pochettino’s list, but this move is one which depends on how things go over the summer.
