Celtic fans have been reacting on Twitter after it was reported that Rangers are in the hunt to sign West Ham defender James Collins.

The Scottish Sun has reported that Collins, 34, would be interested in a move to Glasgow after it was confirmed earlier this week that he would be available on a free transfer with his contract at the London Stadium expiring.

It is understood that Steven Gerrard has eyed up the former Wales international after missing out on Fenerbahce defender Martin Skrtel.

Rangers are said to be keen on bolstering their backline this summer and are also interested in Brighton’s Connor Goldson.

Celtic fans have taken to social media to react to the latest transfer rumour coming out of Ibrox, and many of them have seen it as a chance to make fun of the Gers for having interest in a 34-year-old centre-back.

One Hoops supporter claimed that Dave King’s “£20million warchest” is still yet to be seen.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Collins made 16 appearances across all competitions for West Ham this season before he was told that he won’t be getting a new contract with the London club.

The former Aston Villa and Cardiff powerhouse is known for his imposing figure and strength and there’s every chance that he will be a Gers player next season given his availability.
