Rangers striker Eduardo Herrera could be set for a quickfire return to his former team Pumas, after only arriving in the Scottish Premiership last summer, according to reliable journalist Alonso Cabrera.

The Mexican television reporter stated on Twitter that after the 29-year-old could ‘possibly’ return to Pumas after he failed to make his mark at Ibrox a year after arriving.

Chivas have also been linked with the Rangers outcast who is under contract at Ibrox until 2020.

Good move for Rangers?

It depends if they can recoup the £1.5million they spent on him last season.

If they can, then yes, it is a good move, if not, then no.

However, it would also be fair to say he has not really been given a fair chance to show what he can do at the Light Blues.

Having said that, it was an innocuous signing made under previous manager Pedro Caixinha but it was in line with where the club were at, at that point in time.

With the club now having more financial muscle, they are able to splash out on better quality signings and unfortunately for Herrera, he does not fit the mould.

Likely to happen?

Rangers will be happy to sell and get him off the wage bill as he clearly has no future at the club.

Steven Gerrard wants to add more players which inevitably means that those already on the sidelines will be shown the exit door.

We think that this is one that will go through and it will suit all parties.
