Tottenham fans on social media ripped into attacker Erik Lamela for his display against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

Spurs lost 1-0 to the Baggies at the Hawthorns, and supporters knew who they blamed for Mauricio Pochettino’s side failure to get any points from Saturday’s game.

One fan tweeted that it was embarrassing that the 26-year-old was able to keep getting games based off his performances, while another stated on Twitter that the winger had been shocking on Saturday.

The Argentinian manager also clearly understood supporters’ frustrations with Lamela as he subbed him and put Lucas Moura on in his place, in the 77th minute of the game.

Lamela has played 31 times for Spurs this season, scoring two goals, while creating six, but that wasn’t enough for one Spurs fan.

The 26-year-old spent the first half of the current campaign on the sidelines with a hip injury, and was used sparingly upon returning to the first-team in November.

Lamela has been at Spurs since 2013, after joining from AS Roma and is contracted to stay with Pochettino’s side until 2020.

According to The Guardian, Spurs paid £25.8million to sign the winger and one supporter claimed that the club would never get their money’s worth based on the 26-year-old’s display against the Baggies.
