Newcastle United fans all saying the same thing after they were reported by Turkish outlet Fotomac to be in the running for the signature of former Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel – and the Magpies faithful are adamant they do not want him.
Skrtel left the Reds in 2016 for Fenerbahce and had been prominently linked with a return to the UK with a move to Rangers said to be on the cards, where he would link back up with former teammate Steven Gerrard.
However, wages were believed to be the stumbling block and it is a deal that does not look like happening now.
That should not stand in the way of the Magpies, who are likely to be able to better anything that the Scottish giants can offer.
But with Jamaal Lascelles and Florian Lejeune making a formidable duo at the heart of the defence, there are question marks over why the north-east club would even need Skrtel, who at 33 has had the best days of his career.
As a result, there was hardly a positive word from fans about the fact their club is being linked to the Slovakian, 6ft 2in colossus (transfermarkt), and deem their current back two far superior to anything the defender can offer.
