Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw is the most likely player to sign for Tottenham next, according to Football Whispers.

The Sun reported last month that United are in the hunt to sign Danny Rose and would have to offer £40million, plus Shaw, to stand any chance of signing the Spurs left-back.

Shaw, who according to the Daily Star earns £70,000-a-week at Old Trafford, has been well down Jose Mourinho’s pecking order and looks as though he could be on the move in the summer transfer window.

Football Whispers, which gathers all transfer rumours across the globe and calculates the likelihood of them happening, rates it 3.7 out of 5 that the 22-year-0ld will join Spurs next.

Good move for Tottenham?

Shaw is a very good left-back who has had his confidence shot at Man United over the last couple of seasons.

The England international has struggled to get himself up to full fitness after a horrific leg break a couple of years ago and Mourinho has handled the defender’s situation very poorly.

He has made just 19 appearances across all competitions in the last season with just the odd appearance here and there in the Premier League.

That doesn’t mean that Shaw would not be a good signing for Spurs as Mauricio Pochettino will surely get the former Southampton star back on the right tracks.

Likely to happen?

Shaw gets linked to Tottenham a lot and so does Rose to Man United.

Will this summer finally be the transfer window where they both seal big-money transfers? It does seem plausible, especially as United are set to spend big after a disappointing season.

Shaw plus £40million will be a decent return for Spurs if they decided to offload Rose.
