Everton have announced that Marco Silva is their new manager – and Watford fans have reacted on Twitter to the news.
The Toffees confirmed on their official website that the 40-year-old has completed a move to Goodiosn Park, while he will also be joined by backroom staff Joao Pedro, Hugo Olivera, Antonis Lemonakis and Pedro Conceicao.
He has replaced Sam Allardyce at the helm of the Merseyside club and will be tasked with trying to get his new side back in the mix for European spots.
Silva does have experience in English football with both Watford and Hull on his CV, where he impressed with his attacking philosophy.
The Portuguese boss also has time at Estoril, Sporting and Olympiacos under his belt, but is still viewed as a young exciting manager.
He was sacked by Watford in January 2018 and the club cited a “unwarranted approach by a Premier League rival” for the reason behind is dismissal, with the Hornets reportedly rejecting Everton’s approach back in November.
Silva has finally ended up securing a move to Everton ahead of the 2018/19 season and Watford fans on social media haven’t been able to resist poking fun at the manager following his arrival into a new role.
Watford fans are desperate to face Everton early into the new league season and he is set to be in for a fiery reception after his departure from Vicarage Road.

Regarding #marcosilva, I genuinely want him to succeed at @Everton otherwise what was the point of this whole episode. Of course, I was annoyed and frustrated at how this derailed @WatfordFC season but it’s gone now. They go their way and we go ours #watfordfc
