Everton fans took to social media to celebrate the news that midfielder Beni Baningime had signed a new long-term deal with the club.

The Toffees released a brief statement, via the club’s official website, to confirm that the 19-year-old central midfielder had put pen to paper on a new four-year deal with the club.

Baningime has had a breakthrough season at Everton during this campaign, which included him making his first-debut against Chelsea in the League Cup.

Since the midfielder made his debut in October, the teenager has gone on to make a further 11 appearances, to see him appear a grand total of 12 times for the first-team this season.

Eight of these outings have been in the Premier League, where he has made brief cameo appearances from the bench during games.

Aside from appearing for the Toffees’ first-team during the current campaign, Baningime has continued to feature for the Toffees’ U-23s side.

The 19-year-old has made 11 appearances in the Premier League 2 this season and even scored a rare goal against Chelsea’s U-23s team.

Several Toffees supporters celebrated the news of Baningime extending his time at the club on Twitter, with some suggesting that he’s ready to play a bigger part at Goodison Park.

One fan tweeted that the midfielder was one of the few positives of the season, while another stated simply to urge Sam Allardyce to play him.
