Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah is the most likely player to sign for Rangers next, according to Football Whispers.

The Sun has previously reported that the Gunners would be willing to send Nketiah, 18, out on loan for next season in a bid to aid his development.

The teenager signed a new long-term deal with the Premier League giants in December, which according to the Sun is worth £15,000-a-week.

Football Whispers, which gathers all transfer rumours across the globe and calculates the likelihood of them happening, rates it 3.3 out of 5 that Nketiah will be the next signing made by Mark Allen and Steven Gerrard at Ibrox.

Good move for Rangers?

Nketiah has been tipped for a big future at Arsenal after breaking into their first team this season.

He made 10 appearances for the London club across all competitions, scoring his first and second senior goals in an extra time win against Norwich in the Carabao Cup in October.

Rangers certainly need to bolster their strike force if Alfredo Morelos leaves and if Jason Cummings’ loan deal is not made permanent.

Nketiah would be a neat addition, but won’t be someone who is expected to lead the goalscoring charts.

Likely to happen?

Rangers have already been linked with a lot of players after it was confirmed that Gerrard would be their next manager.

Most of his reported targets come from Liverpool and surely the Gers boss would be looking at strikers who are more readily equipped for first team football on a regular basis.

Nketiah has only made the odd appearance for Arsenal and is not quite ready for a full season in the Scottish Premiership, so Gerrard is likely to be looking elsewhere.
