Leeds fans have been reacting to comments made by former United midfielder James Milner after an interview the 32-year-old gave ahead of his side’s involvement in the Champions League final against Real Madrid on Saturday night.
The Liverpool midfielder revealed in an interview in The Times that, “I still follow Leeds and want them to do well and still have that same feeling towards Manchester United.”
This led to fans urging the England international to make a return to Elland Road to finish his career, as well as an outpouring of love for the 61-times capped three lions ace.
Milner is out of contract at Anfield next summer and with comments such as these, fans will remain hopeful that there is a chance he will return to the club where it all started for him and the place he was born.
The 32-year-old left the Yorkshire outfit in July 2004 following the Whites’ relegation from the Premier League under Peter Reid and subsequent financial crisis the Whites found themselves in, heading to Newcastle.
From there his career took him to Aston Villa, Manchester City and finally to where he is now on Merseyside and on the verge of becoming a Champions League winner with the small matter of beating Real Madrid.
